Maharshi Dayanand Sarswati said, “He who after careful thinking is ever ready to accept truth, regret falsehood, who counts the happiness of others as he does that of his own self, I call him just”. He enshrined the idea that all actions should be performed with the prnine objective of benefiting mankind and not following rituals or revering idols and symbols.

His philosophy paved the path for the reforms movement of women and Indian culture that was paralyzed by superstitions and non-humanistic rituals and ceremonies. He unfurled the movement named,“Pakhand Khandni Pataka” to form a society free from the hindrances of inhuman traditions and age old superstitions. A memorial at Vedic Mohan Ashram in Haridwar is established to same.

His philosophy revolutionized the Indian society. He emphasized the marriageable age of women after twenty years and of men after twenty five year. His scientific philosophy was behind his opposition to child marriages and marriages within the circle of group of members of the same family. Even the science has now highlighted the problems of these marriages and of pregnancies below the age of twenty.

His philosophy of avocation of marriages with the consent of boy and girl and not just of their parents was a step towards modern India and a revolution if one takes into account that era of slavery and superstitions. The touching part is that definition of most sinner is the person who fell prey fo senses and breaks pledges especially after adopting ‘Sanyas’ or ‘Bhrahmacharya’.
