ज्ञानविज्ञान योग नामक सातवें अध्याय में भगवान विज्ञान रहित ज्ञान का उपदेश अर्जुन को कर रहे थे, किन्तु अर्जुन ने आठवें अध्याय के प्रारम्भ में ही भगवान से सात प्रश्न कर दिए। भगवान इन प्रश्नों के उत्तर देने लगे इस कारण ज्ञानविज्ञान का विषय अपूर्ण ही रह गया था। अब उसी विषय को आगे बढ़ाते हुए भगवान नौवें अध्याय का प्रारम्भ करते हैं। गीता का यह नौवां अध्याय अति महत्वपूर्ण है। इस अध्याय में अनन्य शुद्ध भक्ति का ही वर्णन हुआ है।
In the seventh chapter called Gyan Vigyan Yoga, God was preaching to Arjuna about knowledge without science, but Arjuna asked seven questions to God at the very beginning of the eighth chapter. God started answering these questions, due to which the subject of knowledge science remained incomplete. Now taking the same topic forward, the Lord begins the ninth chapter. This ninth chapter of Gita is very important. Only pure devotion has been described in this chapter.
