विश्‍वगुरु महर्षि दयानन्द-

महर्षि दयानन्द विश्‍वगुरु, ऋषि व वेदप्रचारक कैसे थे? इसका उत्तर है महर्षि दयानन्द के समय तक चार वेदों की मन्त्र संहितायें हिन्दुओं वा आर्यों के आलस्य प्रमाद के कारण लुप्त प्रायः हो चुकी थीं। उनके जीवन काल में वेदों की मुद्रित मन्त्र संहितायें व सायण आदि भाष्य आदि देश भर में कहीं उपलब्ध नहीं होते थे। सायण ने जो मन्त्र भाष्य किया वह भी प्राचीन वेद परम्परा व अष्टाध्यायी-महाभाष्य-निरुक्त पद्धति के अनुरूप व उनसे पोषित नहीं था। उन्होंने सभी वेद मन्त्रों का प्रयोजन यज्ञार्थ बताकर उनके याज्ञिक अर्थ ही किये थे। इसके विपरीत महर्षि दयानन्द अपने समय व महाभारत काल के बाद पहले विद्वान थे, जिन्होंने चुनौती के स्वरों में घोषणा की थी कि वेद सब सत्य विद्याओं का पुस्तक है। अपनी इस मान्यता को वेदों का भाष्य आरम्भ करने से पूर्व उन्होंने चारों वेदों की भूमिका के रूप में लिखी पुस्तक ऋग्वेदादिभाष्य भूमिका में प्रमाणों के साथ घोषित किया है। महर्षि दयानन्द ने चारों वेदों के भाष्यों का लेखन आरम्भ किया था, परन्तु असमय ही उनके देहावसान हो जाने से वे यजुर्वेद का सम्पूर्ण और ऋग्वेद के सातवें मण्डल तक के कुछ मंत्रों का ही भाष्य कर पाए थे। यदि उनके विरोधियों ने उन्हें विष देकर न मारा होता तो वह चारों वेदों का अभूतपूर्व और अद्वितीय भाष्य करते।

How was Maharishi Dayanand Vishwaguru, Rishi and Vedpracharak? The answer is that by the time of Maharishi Dayanand, the Mantra Samhitas of the four Vedas had almost disappeared due to the laziness and negligence of the Hindus and Aryans. During his lifetime, the printed Mantra Samhitas of the Vedas and commentaries of Sayan etc. were not available anywhere in the country. The Mantra Bhashya done by Sayan was also not in accordance with the ancient Vedic tradition and Ashtadhyayi-Mahabhashya-Nirukta method and was not nourished by them. He had given only Yagya meanings to all the Vedic Mantras by declaring their purpose as Yagyaarth. On the contrary, Maharishi Dayanand was the first scholar of his time and after the Mahabharata period, who had declared in a challenging tone that the Vedas are the book of all true knowledge.
